ICON's Fire Watch Safety Training Course is designed to teach students that a fire watch is a person assigned to observe ongoing hot work to identify and react to hazards. Also that Fire watch is necessary at any time where hot work is performed in locations where a fire greater than a minor one might develop. They learn that before hot work begins, written permission, like a hot work permit, must be issued. Students also learn how to inspect the work area for any sources of fuel, such as trash, rags and flammable materials and liquids.
Hot Work poses a serous hazard to those performing it! It also involves your full attention. This course is designed to teach workers a multitude of things, including the recognition of fire hazards and the appropriate response.
It is important to understand that it’s NOT just a certificate, it is very important job with many people depending on you. The fire watch becomes the eyes and ears for other workers focusing on their hot work duties.
